She’s A Boss……Interview With Southern Rapper and Clothing Designer Rasheeda

Before Rick Ross went around proclaiming his status as “Boss” Georgia Peach rapper, clothing designer and soon to be reality star Rasheeda proclaimed her status in the game. With lyrics like “See it’s all about the way you put it down right, Gotta be sexy gotta be in control ya know, Ya’ll ain’t never met nobody fly like me, That’s fo damn sure, Hey, cause I’m a BOSS” Rasheeda’s been letting people know where she stands for years. Therefore, it was only fitting that she name her clothing and jewelry line Imbossy. With T-Shirts that have catchy sayings, fun designs and oh so sexy appeal Rasheeda’s clothing line demonstrates her ability to prove her boss status. I recommend everyone check out her website http://www.imbossy.com and show how much of a boss you really are by rocking a few of her shirts this summer. I had the pleasure of  interviewing Rasheeda about my favorite clothing line Imbossy.com and wanted to share it you guys….enjoy!

1. LB: At what point in your career did you decide to create a fashion line?

Rasheeda: I’ve had the idea in my mind for several years now but I just decided to move forward in 2011.

2. LB:How would you describe your sense of style?

Rasheeda: I’m fairly simple I’m a pumps and jeans type of girl. I will rock a wife beater & jeans but kill it with a Hot pair of pumps and I’m happy! I just like wearing things that make me feel sexy, comfortable and confident.

3.LB: Since the release of your first album back 2001 how would you say your style has changed?

Rasheeda:LOL…WOW so much! I’m more of that glam, hood chick attainable but stylish looks I wear clothes I don’t let them wear me.

4. LB:Was there ever a point in your career where you felt you had to change your sense of style in order to fit a “mold”?.

Rasheeda:I was told that several times but I never listen I’m only gonna do what I feel comfortable doing. What works for someone doesn’t necessarily work for me so don’t come at me with that.

5.  LB: What advice would you give someone who feels they have to dress a certain way to “fit in”?

Rasheeda:I preach this all the time but be an individual, a trendsetter not a follower. Never blend in always stand out! People may have things to say but that’s only because your not doing the normal.

6.LB: In your opinion does being in the music industry hinder or help your clothing line, meaning do you feel people respect you as a clothing designer?

Rasheeda:I haven’t felt as though it has hurt me and honestly my music has been my platform to building ImBossy. All the shirt slogans are lyrics from my music they actually work hand in hand.

7. LB:I love the sayings on your shirts especially the one that states” I love doing me something you not” Do you ever worry that some of your phrases may be too blunt for some people?

Rasheeda:I really don’t worry because if the shoe doesn’t fit u cant rock with it and that’s totally understandable everything isn’t for everyone but I feel great about my expressions they are confident and empowering!

8. LB: In five years where would you like to see your line go?

Rasheeda:Global, be a worldwide brand I want everyone rockin ImBossy!!!

9. LB: Do you plan expanding your line and adding a man’s line as well?

Rasheeda:Yes I do its in the works now.

10. LB:What advice would you give a young woman looking to start her own clothing?

Rasheeda: Go hard, take risks, be hands on, develop a strong team, learn as much of the business aspects of things as possible & don’t give up.

11. LB:One of the things I love most about your line is that it urges people to express themselves however they feel fit and without regretting it. Is that a general rule you live by for your self?

Rasheeda: Yes it is, to me its all about self-expressionbeing yourself and being comfortable in your skin.

12. LB:(random question) What is the one fashion accessory you cant live without?

 Rasheeda:Earrings & a fly bag

13. LBWhat was your worst fashionable moment-

Rasheeda:I would have to say I wore some feathered number a few years back that was like the ugliest sh*t ever why did I do that!!!!!
